Blessings loves!

I remember in my younger days, cuddling up in my bed and staying up late at night reading books. I LOVED to read! My mom said I was her only child who liked to read. Well, I admit it. I was a book addict! I loved losing myself in the world of the characters in any particular book. Can you relate?!

Motherhood got me a little off track, but I am getting back into reading. One great way to be successful is to read! Since writing my first book Living Your God Inspired Purpose, I have begun to read more and more. I love reading inspirational and Christian personal development books! They give me different perspectives that I never thought of before!

The first book is a book I have been wanting to read for a LONG TIME! Lol!

1. Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

The most basic question everyone faces in life is Why am I here? What is my purpose? Self-help books suggest that people should look within, at their own desires and dreams, but Rick Warren says the starting place must be with God and his eternal purposes for each life. Real meaning and significance comes from understanding and fulfilling God’s purposes for putting us on earth.

I love the points to ponder, verses to remember, and questions to consider about our purpose at the end of each chapter!

2. I Dare You by Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer explains that a life without purpose is a life not worth living. We all need a reason to get up everyday. We all need to reach for something beyond ourselves.

In this book, Joyce dives deep into the reason that God created us. She shares scripture references and thought provoking quotes about embracing our life with joy. She also asks questions about those things in our life that aren’t helping us that we may need to let go of.

3. Change Your Language Change Your Life by Jotina Buck

This book focuses on how to change your language, recognize and declare divine promises, foster life-enhancing habits, and make an agreement with yourself to enrich your life by following through on what you say you want to do or accomplish.

I have had the pleasure to hear Ms. Buck speak live and meet her in person. She is a rock star teacher and moving inspirational speaker! I love that at the end of each chapter of her book she gives exercises for us to complete and provides space for us to write out our answers. A book + journal in one! Check out our photo HERE.

4. Abundance Now by Lisa Nichols

In this book, Lisa Nichols shares her journey from scarcity to abundance, outlining steps everyone can take to create abundance in career, relationships, self, and finances—while creating a legacy for others to follow.

I love how transparent Lisa is in this book! She focuses on having abundant thinking from a wholistic perspective. I love this because I am seeking to live God’s purpose for me in all areas of my life (marriage, parenting, my business, ect.)

5. Think and Grow Rich A Black Choice by Dennis Kimbro and Napoleon Hill

Author and entrepreneur Dennis Kimbro combines bestselling author Napolean Hilll’s law of success with his own vast knowledge of business, contemporary affairs, and the vibrant culture of Black America to teach you the secrets to success used by scores of black Americans, including: Spike Lee, Jesse Jackson, Dr. Selma Burke, Oprah Winfrey, and many others

I love, love, love the stories of struggle and triumph that are shared in this book. I am in awe of some of the stories of perseverance! It also humbles me and reminds me that what I am going through can be overcome! This book reminds us that our mindset and the unwillingness to give up is the key to our success!
