As Christian we are all created with a divine purpose to serve God’s kingdom. Yet, the devil does not want us to believe such. He uses sneaky tactics to convince us otherwise even though the bible clearly says that God has a plan for all of us.
The devil would have you believe you don’t have a purpose by starting early in your life planting thoughts into your mind. It may have been your family or ‘friends’ telling you not to live your purpose because it is outside of the family tradition, it is unstable, or it doesn’t make since to them. These thoughts are told to you so much that they become your truth. Well, just because someone can’t see God’s vision for you doesn’t mean that He won’t fulfill it in you!
Some of us spend our whole life living in fear because we really don’t believe in our purpose. We don’t truly believe in ourselves or in God. Let’s address some of those lies!
1. *We don’t have a divine purpose.
The devil would have you live like a majority of the world and work for someone else in an unfulfilling job with no more meaning than to make money. But we are call not to conform, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds! Know that you have a purpose!
1 Peter 4:10 says: As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
So we have all received a gift (or gifts) to serve each other. No matter what anyone tells you, believe God over what others have to say! You have a purpose here on earth!
2. *We aren’t good enough.
The devil will have our family members, people we hang around, or are in relationships with tell us that we aren’t good enough. Well, guess what!? You are more than enough!
Ephesians 2:10 says: For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Do you know what a masterpiece is? Masterpiece: a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship. An artist’s or craftsman’s best piece of work.
That means you are God’s BEST WORK! Think about that! Isn’t that amazing!?
3. *We are too busy.
The devil will keep us busy taking care of things and people that are not related to our purpose. We are busy serving our children, husband, bosses…but what about God?
Psalm 46:10 says: He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
In order to live your purpose, you have to take time to get to know God and what He wants from you. So it is time to prioritize your purpose and your faith!
Take time for God everyday!
How are you combatting the devil’s lies and living your purpose today?
